Title: Love like a shoujo manga
Characters: Takaki Yuya, Yabu Kouta
Rating: PG
Setting: AU
Warnings: Wordy, boy/boy kiss near the end.

A young librarian shuffled through his domain, blinking at the rays of sunlight that illuminated through the window. Even though it wasn't even past noon, the sun was already shining brightly, spreading a comfortable warmth through the busy streets of Tokyo's Akihabara. Akihabara was mainly known for it's otaku's; fans of anime, manga and games. But also for the numerous little maid café's, cosplay shops and manga libraries that had established themselves there in the years.

Said librarian, Yabu Kouta was his name, was the owner of one of these little manga libraries, having started his own business at a ridiculously young age. Now struggling every day to keep his head up and manage a life on his own.

He took a manga from the cart he was pushing forward, gently placing it in the wooden cabinet, his rank fingers trailing over its back as he did so. He smiled, not yet bothered by the fact that business wasn't really 'busy' today, actually liking the calming atmosphere of the nearly empty library. Usually, when the library was filled with people, through the dead silence of those who were reading, he could disguise all kinds of little sounds, ones you could only hear when you listened well enough. The soft rustling of pages that got turned. The soft giggle of the girl who was reading her shoujo manga in the corner. The breath that got hold because the moment was so intense, to the point the situation calmed down and the stocked air slowly got released again. He even heard the man hidden behind the shelfs, that had settled behind a big magazine but was secretly reading a sad romance, as he tried to suppress a sob when the lover of the heroine died in her arms. It were the sounds he had learned to pick up as his days in the library faltered by, and he loved them. But even more, he loved the rare moments of complete silence in that cleared his mind for a bit. Allowing him to slip away in his own little world.

And he did, as he closed his eyes and enjoyed the complete silence, aside from the muted sounds from outside. Almost did he fell asleep on the spot, while standing there with one of his treasured  manga's still in his hand. If it wasn't for the bell of his store that rang, followed by a loud bang and someone shrieking. His eyes fluttered open, to watch in horror as one by one, the shelfs seemed to fall down, as mere domino's. "What the..." he muttered, too shocked to produce a proper reaction for the scene in front of his eyes, as he saw a young male crawling underneath a shelf, looking up at him with a certain look of despair in his brown eyes.

"Please don't tell them I'm here!" And with those words he fled behind one of the couches.

"Tell wh--" Yabu wanted to ask, but he got interrupted by a huddle of girls making their way into the library, not even minding the mess and the manga's lying around. They looked around as if they were searching for something, and they probably were... For the boy that just has entered, and eyed the young librarian suspiciously.

"Where is he?" one asked in a demanding manner, leaving the lanky male startled for a bit. He blinked and opened his mouth to speak, only to realize that if he told on the person who had ramped his library he had to clean it up on his own. It wasn't worth the joy of seeing him getting dragged away by this group of very vicious looking women. He gulped for a bit, not doing well with the demanding stares and he pointed towards the back, "fle--fled trough the back door. Go-- Go get 'm girls," he stuttered, and in the blink of an eye the girls had left again, leaving the librarian seemingly alone.

"You can come out now," he muttered towards the couch, where now a mess of dyed blond appeared, followed by two suspicious looking brown eyes and lastly a pair of pouting lips that stared at the back of the library. As if the girls could appear any moment to ravish him at the spot. "Thanks man... I thought they were going to kill me," He muttered, his voice low and hoarse, probably due the running from earlier, and he dusted his pants. "I have an appointment to go to, ya see."

The taller man frowned, "Yeah... Not really." His voice was low, the anger that finally managed to get trough him, nearly dripping off his voice, "the only reason I didn't tell those girls where you were, was because you are going to help me, cleaning this mess up." With that, he gestured towards the fallen cabinets and the manga's spread on the floor, leaving nothing but a big, on-organized mess.

The other blinked, now for the first time looking around at were he was, noticing were he was... And what he had done. His cheekbones turned into a shade of red, the color of shame and he bit his lower lip. "I--I'm sorry," he muttered softly, before bending and starting to scramble a few of the novels together.

The older of two blinked at the sudden reaction, he had expected at least some kind of resistants but the look on the other's face was eager and sincere. So eager and sincere that he couldn't help but also bending down, following his example and grabbing some of the manga's, already arranging them in an alphabetical as he piled them up.

In the 5 hours following after that, Yabu learned that the other male's name was Takaki Yuya, a young talent and model for an agency that had his head office settled in the center of Akihabara. He was making his big marching up in all kinds of popularity rankings right now, resulting in the screaming girls that followed him every step he took, the reason he had fled into the cozy looking library. He was actually surpirsed that Yabu didn't knew about him, seeing his face was pretty much everywhere lately, but the older male had shrugged. He was usually either busy in or with the library, only going out to buy his favorite cup-noodles and... other stuff you needed to stay alive. He didn't have the time to stay up to date with who was dominating the top-charts or played in yet another meaningless drama.

Takaki laughed, as he helped the slightly taller male to place the last bunch of manga's in the shelf. "I think it's kinda cool you keep doing what you're doing Yabu-kun, without thinking what others think about it." Yabu looked sidewards and blinked once again. "Cool? Tha--Thanks..." he muttered, as he pretended he could ignore the slight blush that spread over his cheeks and acted as if he was very busy with getting all the manga's on his place again.

When Takaki Yuya bit his good bye that night, the other had never expected to see him ever again. However, he was proved wrong the next day, when he made his round through the library, finding the younger male huddled in a corner with a manga in his hand. Deep in thoughts as he seemed to absorb every single word that was written there.

"Takaki-kun?"

Upon hearing his name the younger looked up, smiling. "I came across this manga yesterday... And it looked interesting. So I came back today to read it."

"Ah... I see..." the older one mused softly, before nodding and continuing his round, not minding the younger male any further. Celebrity or not, in his library he was just like any other costumer. At the end of the day, the younger boy bit his good bye again, exclaiming he would come back the day after, and Yabu just nodded and waved at him. Like he did with any other costumer.

But unlike any other costumer, this one kept returning. And as the days faltered by, the lanky 20-year old started to notice the younger was becoming an essential part of the library. Not only did he enjoy their small talks in between taking rounds and helping other costumers, the other also brought in his fair share of people. Mainly girls that wanted to ogle the young idol as he was reading, playing games on his phone... Or what ever he did to kill his time in the cozy area, in which he had claimed a seat of his own.

Five weeks after their first meeting, after having stopped by every single day of the week, Yuya's visits suddenly stopped. At first the older had figured the boy was busy with work. He was an idol after all, and he already had wondered how the young male had been able to actually hang around the library every day. Also the second day, Yabu didn't really took much notice of the younger male absence, though he was obliged to shut a few of his quite loud fangirls up. As they loudly had discussed reasons why the idol didn't show up anymore, with this bothering the other costumers.

However, another week passed and Yabu started to notice how he missed the having the other around. His gentle smile while he was reading, his stupid questions concerning whatever he was reading at the moment and most of all... Just his mere presence. His usual spot that had been empty for a week actually managed to sadden the lanky librarian, and with a sigh he seated himself there. Just to feel for a bit, how the younger must have felt every time he came here. He closed his eyes, remembering the other's smile, the contours of his face and his wavy hair. He also remembered his voice, so vividly he could almost hear it.

Wait. His eyes fluttered open, hearing something. His name. In that all too familiar voice. He did hear Takaki's voice! He jumped up, eying a panting Takaki who rested with his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath. "I... This for you... Made it myself..." he manged to say in between a few breaths, handing Yabu a little book.

A manga.

"What's this?" the older asked, vague skipping trough the book, noticing the child-like scribbles, smiling to himself as he figured these were probably Takaki's drawings.

"Our story." The other said, now finally back on his two feet, stepping a bit closer.

"Our what? We don't have a story together," the taller one insisted. Not getting what the idol  was aiming at.

"Yes we have," the blond haired grinned, stepping next to Yabu, snatching the little booklet for his hands and opening it. "Look. This is how we met," he said, as he pointed towards a few of the scribbles, as he bluntly continued,"and when I fell in love with you."

Yabu opened his mouth to speak, surprised, embarrassed, flattered, happy? But he got interrupted by the other as he continued, "here is where I put all my efforts into getting your attention. But you never saw, did you? It doesn't matter though, I could have been a little bit more direct." He chuckled softly, "because dropping by everyday wasn't obvious enough. Well and this is where I got the idea of making you this. To confess to you, trough your biggest love... After me that is. Manga. Because our love is just like a shoujo manga."

The older blinked, after which a small chuckle released from his lips. "You came up with all that by yourself?"

The younger nodded, leaving the other to continue, as he pointed towards the last page. "What happens here?"

The smaller male grinned. "That's where we kiss."

"But we haven't even kiss--" before the older could finish his sentence he felt two warm lips on his, and without hesitation he leaned in, warping his own long arms around the slightly smaller males neck. Jup, he was right... Just like a shoujo manga.
