At times where you have no idea what to do, there is only one thing that can help you out. And that is consoling your elders. In Hikaru's case those 'elders' where not his parents, but rather the senpai's in the agency. Carefully he weighted down his options, and with a frown he saw his list narrowing.
The first person he could think of was Koyama-kun. They had always been very close since Ya-Ya-yah up 'till Hi!Hey!Say! and even now when they encountered each other the oldest NEWS member always had been friendly towards him. But when he remembered how the man had acted when he found out about Tegoshi's first crush, he pushed away that option. The image of poor Tegoshi being dragged around while Koyama cried his baby was becoming a man was still fresh in his mind.
The whole of Arashi were a no go for the 19 year old. Not only because he didn't had fate in the older group (he had the feeling Ohmiya would stalk Yabu to death to find out more about him and council Hikaru about it later, Sho would come up with some smartass reason only he himself could understand, Aiba would suggest something that involved either puppies or any other hairy little creature and Matsumoto would just laugh at him and walk away), but also because he was sure Chinen had some kind of device hidden somewhere in the Arashi dressingroom. And last thing he wanted was having Chinen to know about his feelings.
Thus he scurried over to the KAT-TUN dressing room.
"Kamenashi-kun!"
The older man looked up. Seemingly quite relieved for this disturbance. He had been in a heated discussion with Ueda about the upcoming performances, whether Jin was allowed to take of his shirt or not. A few hours earlier the latter had complained that 'everyone' ("Pi! Ryo-chan, Shige! And even that Hey Say kid!) had done it, but the younger had completely refused. Now the boxer tried to convince him that there were indeed some positive sides of having at least one of them undress himself even if it was only for sales purposes, while Kame retorted he would be disgusted with seeing Jin acting like that slutty outside a club.
"Hikaru-kun! Long time no see," he smiled towards the younger who hesitatingly made his way trough the dressing room. He caught a disturbed glance from Ueda that was not meant for him but for the youngest member of his band. Kamenashi either did not see it, or completely ignored it as he signed at Hikaru to come closer.
Ueda sighed. "I'll be going then. I'll tell Jin what you think of the plan. But if he starts having a fit and wants to throw with stuff he's all yours dear." With those words the oldest man got up, nodded a quick smile towards his kouhai and disappeared.
"So," Kamenashi swung one leg over another and looked at Hikaru, "what are you here for? As I assume you don't just drop by for nothing."
Hikaru looked down, and then looked at his senpai who eyed him curiously. "I... Well... Um... I like someone! And I want to tell that person about my feelings, but I have no idea how!" The 19 year old had blurted it out, and now looked down a little ashamed of himself, to ask such a question. His senpai must have been pretty busy with drama shootings and all, and yet the younger bothered him about his love life.
However, Kamenashi didn't seem to mind, and furrowed his brows a little as he seriously thought about what the younger could possibly do to confess his love. It was a topic he hadn't thought about for a very long time. Due work and lack of time there was no such thing as love in the life of Kamenashi Kazuya. For now.
"Just telling it would be best right? But if it's hard to express your feelings in front of that person, maybe a love letter would be good?"
Hikaru looked up with a certain sparkle in his eyes. He suddenly hugged the older man who was caught off guard at first but after that hugged the younger back a bit awkwardly.
When Hikaru released him he shot the man his trademark grin, "thank you Kamenashi-kun. Kou-chan loves my writings, so I bet it's a good idea!" And that having said he ran off.
He left a stunned Kamenashi behind. "K-Kou-chan? Y-Yabu-chan? I thought this was about a girl..."
14 hours, 43 minutes, 3 seconds and a small forest of waste for the papers later, Hikaru was finally done with his love letter. On last time he read through it to ensure himself of the fact that there where no grammatical nor spelling mistakes (Yabu was an unexpected perfectionist when it came to these, thus he wanted to to be perfect). Somewhat happy with the outcome of the letter, he carefully folded it, and searched for a nice envelope. There was no way Yabu was going to resist this fine piece of literal art.
Before practice Hikaru swiftly slipped the letter into the bag of the older member, telling himself it would all be over in a matter of hours. However, this was easier said than done and the dance practice had never been this long in his mind.
He made mistakes and messed up quite a few parts, but gentle as the other members were they blamed it on the tiredness, and with a smile they told him he should get some rest after practice was done. He nodded and eagerly continued in the faint hope it would time go by faster. He couldn't get his mind off the letter, and as soon as he rushed towards the dressing room. The other members trailing behind him.
This was nerve wrecking, he found out later because every time the oldest member's hand came close towards the bag he felt like he was going to have a heart attack. He nearly tripped over his own feet about 3 times, and once nearly chocked himself why he tried to put his clean t-shirt on, and watching Yabu at the same time.
"Ah. What's this?"
It was Yabu's surprised voice, and all the members, including Hikaru looked his way.
"It seems like a letter," Daiki muttered.
"Read it for us Yabu-kun!" Chinen chirped, as he took possession of the older boys lap, but Yabu gently handed him over to Takaki. "Not until I have read it myself."
Slowly he folded open the letter, and while Takaki was holding back the smallest member of JUMP by hugging him the oldest seemed to get absorbed in the letter. With a slight blush he finished it, and carefully muffled it away in the envelope.
"That is the most beautiful thing I have ever read," he led out s soft whisper.
Both Inoo and Hikaru tried to hold their breath.
"Who's it from?" Keito asked curiously, it was the question everyone had wanted to ask, but Yabu merely smiled. "I don't know. There was no name underneath it. But I'm sure that who ever it was, really meant it. I'll treasure it for the rest of my life."
Hikaru was stunned. He wanted to speak. But no words came out of his throat. How could he forget his name?! He had read it for over 9 times to check his spelling, but forgot something important as his own name!
"Ne, Hikaru. I bet the one who wrote that must be really good in writing ne? Making Yabu-kun so flustered." It was Yamada who spoke.
He just merely smiled and nodded at the younger. The fact that Yabu didn't even thought of him made it pretty clear he older boy wasn;t thinking of him in 'such' a way.
While the other members gathered around Yabu, trying to read a bit of the letter that made their unofficial leader this happy. Hikaru and Inoo exchanged a glance. Both had lost one serious battle now. Now it was time for a more direct measurement.
I'M SO SORRY THIS TOOK TO LONG T-T I can't believe how much my writing style has changedimproved? in the past few months. So yeah. Hikaru also fails. I'm sorry HikaBu fans! I hope everyone enjoyed this chapter nonetheless ^^
